Cannon

Cannon is an abstract game that will be enjoyed by people that like games like chess.

Each player controls a number of soldiers (round pieces) that have to defend their city (square piece) from the opponent. As individuals, they can move and capture other pieces in a limited form, but when three of them form a straight line (orthogonal or diagonal) they become a Cannon, which can capture (firing) pieces at a distance. This makes the soldiers much more powerful.

The game has a nice dynamic where Cannons are created and destroyed all around the board, so that the situation changes a lot from move to move and you've got to pay attention to the possibilities of your opponent if you want to win.
